Careers · One open role

We are hiring one person right now.

A CIPP foreman, for a 2026 start. The page below is the role. We will not be hiring an apprentice until 2027 at the earliest. We will not be hiring a sales person, a marketing person, or anyone in any office function. We are an eight-person shop and our growth ceiling is ten people.

Apprentice (UA Local 22 sponsored)

No openings until 2027. Apprenticeship slot will be sponsored through Local 22. We do not maintain a private waitlist; apply through the union when the spot opens.

What it's like to work here

  • Pay scale at our level is published; we honor the UA Local 22 wage agreement, with shop-paid medical and a SEP-IRA contribution at the company match.
  • Hours are scheduled. Emergency rotations are weekly, in pairs (one journeyman + one operator), with comp time for after-hours work.
  • Training is real. We pay for NASSCO recertification, OSHA refresher, and any vendor training that's relevant. We are an authorized Perma-Liner training site.
  • Tools are shop-supplied. You bring your hands and your boots; we supply everything else.
  • Vehicle is shop-assigned. Take-home truck for the lead operator and the foreman.
  • Tenure matters. Three of our crew have been here over five years; two over ten. Turnover since 2018: one person.
  • Diversity: half our crew is non-male and non-white. Buffalo trades are not historically diverse; we are openly working to broaden the pipeline. We will not pretend this is solved.

How we hire

  1. Email a résumé and a one-paragraph cover note to hiring@reuterknapp.example. No formal cover letter required; tell us why you're interested in trenchless specifically.
  2. Phone screen with Linda (30 min) — basic fit, scheduling, Q&A.
  3. Working interview at the shop with Marie (3 hours, paid at journeyman rate). You'll do a CCTV survey walk-through and a CIPP setup with Al observing.
  4. Reference check (we will call three of yours and we will accept yours calling three of ours).
  5. Offer or no-offer, communicated within 7 days of the working interview.

If we say no, we say no with a reason. We do not ghost candidates. If you don't hear back inside 7 days, follow up — the email may have failed, in which case we apologize.
